Aila was adopted May 14, 2023!
Someone surrendered stunning calico beauty Aila to Devore Shelter in March 2023, claiming she was a stray, but she appeared too well-cared for, and we suspect her story before time spent at the shelter might be a bit different. If only this lovely lady, who shelter staff estimated to be somewhere in the area of 1 to 2 years old, could speak, we believe she’d reveal a different story. What we do know about her begins after her rescue in early April.
Her name derives from Gaelic and Finish origins that describe one who “comes from a strong place,” which suits her well because, while Aila‘s been in foster care and although she initially presented herself as docile and shy, she’s revealed a strong independent streak. She consents to allow people to hold her for short periods but prefers the freedom to lay by your side or wriggle onto your chest, generously giving and receiving kisses along with musical trills and chirps. Her foster mom describes her as one of the most affectionate kitties she’s ever met. Fastidious about her beauty routine, she grooms regularly and invites humans to pet and luxuriate in her gorgeous medium-haired coat. While in foster care, she hasn’t experienced extensive interaction with other cats, but when she has, she remains receptive and amicable toward them. Some cats prefer social interaction with other felines for optimal well-being, but Aila‘s adaptability would enable her to thrive with others or remain the solitary queen of the house.
If you’re seeking a loving companion with a balanced blend of interdependence, Aila may be the perfect kitty for you. Complete an adoption application for this strong and beautiful young lady today!
