Mary Anne was adopted January 16, 2023!
In 2012, when Mary Anne was only two months old, she and her three siblings were rescued from Devore Shelter by the Kitty Devore Rescue team. They all spent time in a wonderful and loving foster home before, one by one, each found their forever home. A kindly older woman chose to adopt Mary Anne and another older but unrelated kitty as her new forever kitties. And everyone believed this was happily ever after.
But sometimes, the story isn’t over. Ten years later, we received a call from San Diego Humane Society. They informed us neighbors of Mary Anne‘s adopter admitted the now-senior kitty into their care after her adopter unexpectedly passed away. Committed to being her safety net, we worked with SDHS to retrieve her. Despite the challenges, Mary Anne adjusted beautifully to all life’s transitions. Within a couple of months, she became herself again — a loving, affectionate girl, content to curl up on available warm laps. Mary Anne accepts kisses eagerly and thrives on snuggle time with people but, despite her age, still plays with toys like a kitten. You can often find her enveloped in soft blankets. The joy and love she exudes warm hearts, young and old.
Although a senior now, our vet affirms Mary Anne is healthy and strong with many years left to what we hope will be a long life. Although we thought her first home would be forever, she’s adapted well through life’s unexpected storm. She’s ready for a new hero to help her continue her story. That could be you!
