Sonoma was rescued from Devore Animal Shelter in November 2024 when he was just a month old, along with his mom, Fontana, and siblings Concord, Darlington, and Daytona. Too young to remember anything but love and safety, he grew up in a devoted foster home as part of the “NASCAR family,” where he blossomed into a bright, affectionate, and playful kitten.

Sonoma is a joyful little character with a heart full of affection and a flair for fun. He adores chin scratches, responds with enthusiastic purrs, and is always in the mood for a game—especially if it involves crinkle chutes, cardboard boxes, or his prized crunch balls. But his playfulness is matched by his incredible resilience. As a survivor of FIP, Sonoma once lost mobility in his hind legs, but thanks to an 84-day treatment protocol, he made a full recovery. Though he occasionally misses the litter box due to lingering nerve damage, he uses it when he senses the urge, and the mishaps are minor and manageable. His energy, mobility, and loving spirit remain undiminished, and he gets along wonderfully with people and other cats.

Sonoma shares a deep, devoted bond with his brother Darlington—the two are constant companions, playmates, and nap buddies. While they’d love to stay together, Sonoma can also be adopted solo to a home ready to embrace his sweet quirks and boundless charm.
