Sligh was adopted June 20, 2020!
Sligh is a big ol’ boy who needs extra large helpings of shoulder and neck scratches. He spent his former years as a Tom Cat but, after winding up in Devore Shelter and since his rescue in September 2018, has since retired in favor of indoor life. Now that he’s got a taste of a new way of life, he figures 6 years of his former lifestyle is plenty. He bears the scars of former rumbles – including an old eye injury. Additionally, he’s an FIV+ kitty – but he’s no worse for wear. His new role as a cuddle cat is not affected in the least and we know he’s got many, many great years ahead of him.
Sligh greets every human guest that walks through the door and makes it his goal to acquire as many new friends as he possibly can. Friendly though he may be, he’d be best suited in a home with adults and children old enough to respect his boundaries. When it comes to other cats, he can be a little on the dominant side so he’d do best in a home with a low key female kitty or as the only kitty in the house. He is tolerant of dogs but may not necessarily want to become best buds with one.
This amazing guy will happily lay in your arms or on your lap but is a little rough around the edges and will give love bites if he gets overstimulated. He is a loud talker when he wants attention and has no problem letting you know when he wants his food. “Ma! Where’s the meatloaf?!?”
Sligh is healthy, big, and solid and would like a place to call home. Is Sligh the cuddle cat for you? If so, fill out an application to adopt him today!
