Shrek LOVES doggies! His first foster mom had 4 small dogs that he loved, and then he immediately bonded with my 50 pound German Shepherd mix. I mean, seriously, this guys loves doggies. Other cats – not so much. He takes a long time to warm up to any other cats besides his brother and mom. He would do OK in a home with another extremely confident and easy going, laid back cat. But most kitties – he tries to dominate.
Shrek is SUCH a lover boy, albeit a sensitive kitty. He is one of those kitties that doesn’t like change, so his new home will need to be a bit patient as he gets his bearings. But once he feels comfortable he really is a huge lover. He will give you head butts, talk to you, lick you, sleep next to you…this boy is just as sweet as can be.
He is a huge, lean, lanky, muscular athletic cat and also very smart. He is one of my most sensitive fosters, meaning he loves human interaction, but he can also pick up on human feelings and changes very easily. Even though Shrek is a big boy, he is very gentle with his claws. He’s never scratched me, even on accident. He will sometimes nibble on me if I am not petting him enough, but I kind of find that endearing.
If you’re looking for a kitty that will REALLY bond with you, give you that unconditional love, and you’re willing to be patient with him and build up that trust, then Shrek might be the one for you.
