Hi! My name is Lyra! I was named after the Lyra constellation in the night sky. According to Greek mythology, Lyra represents the lyre (or harp) which was given from Hermes to Orpheus as a gift. The lyre was made out of tortoise shell (just like my coat pattern!) and was used to create beautiful music. Similarly, I am lyrical in that I love to use my voice to express myself! My foster mom says I have a wonderful voice. My siblings and I were rescued from Devore Animal Shelter in August 2017 when we were just 4 months old. We’re so grateful to be out of there and free to find our forever homes!
I am a stunning, intelligent, and fluffy tortoiseshell kitten or “tortie”. I am very observant, so I usually prefer to check out any situation before jumping in. I’ve got beauty and brains! I love to play with toys as well as wrestle and chase my sister, Cassiopeia. I will come when called over to you because I love a good snuggle. Even though I have great kitten energy, I can also be very calm and easygoing. I love to nap in a comfy spot in the sun and receive lots of petting. Whether you are ready for playtime or chill time, I can be very accommodating. My fur is extra soft and I take great care of my spectacular coat. Curious and cuddly, I’m a very special little lady.
Lyra has been adopted!
