Lime never saw the inside of Devore Animal Shelter. He and his siblings were foundlings, taken in by one of our foster parents in May of 2024 when they were just 7 weeks old. From the start, this orange and white domestic shorthaired boy stood out with his adorably “dirty” nose—a dust-kissed smudge of coloring that gives him a perpetually mischievous look and makes him all the more endearing.

Lime is a sweetheart with a personality that’s equal parts independent and affectionate. He’s super friendly and loves to cuddle, but he prefers to initiate the interaction—if you reach for him first, he may duck away. Give him the chance to come to you, however, and you’ll be rewarded with a full-on love bug who can’t get enough pets and scratches. When you least expect it, he might hop up to your desk, shove his face into yours, and demand attention with a dramatic flop across your keyboard. That’s when his famous motor—the loudest purr you’ll ever hear—kicks in. He adores playing and wrestling with his siblings and would be happiest in a home with another friendly, playful cat. He’s dog-friendly, used to living with canine companions, and while he hasn’t met children, he’d likely be fine with respectful ones who give him space. Churu treats are the fastest way to win his heart.

If you’ve been looking for a cat who will make you smile daily with his antics, keep you company at your desk, and serenade you with the best purr in town, Lime might be your perfect match. Fill out an adoption application for him today!
