Her original name while awaiting rescue from Devore Shelter back in June of 2014, was Miss Priss but her foster mom, who tended to rename her foster kitties after silver screen movie stars, felt she had the vivacity of Lana Turner and so, Lana was to be her name. Granted, she was only 2 months old at the time so it would be awhile before she grew up into the knockout bombshell she is today. Her foster mom, one of Kitty Devore Rescue’s most beloved members, Michelle, was so smitten with little Lana that she adopted her.
However, in early 2018, Michelle passed away from a long battle with cancer. We knew in advance that all her foster and adopted kitties would need a soft place to land so the team rallied to secure homes for all her fur kids so she could focus on getting well and not have to worry about what would become of them. And this is how Lana came back to us.
She missed her mom very much but is making new friends and adjusting to her new foster home quite well. She’s a very social girl, super friendly. Like her namesake, she loves attention – especially from humans. She enjoys the company of other cats but would also be perfectly content in a home where she was the singular superstar.
Lana was adopted July 21, 2018!
