Kringle was adopted December 8, 2021!
Kringle was rescued from Devore Shelter right before the holidays in December of 2014 when he was only a year old. He’s continued to wait for his forever home, but his perfect people have yet to appear. Kringle, you see, is painfully shy, so he needs a home with someone kind, loving, but above all, patient. He does warm up, and when he does, he’s a charming and loving boy. He just needs a bit of time to develop trust with new people.
Additionally, when rescued, Kringle had contracted a very severe kitty cold while at the shelter. To this day, when feeling stressed, the weeping eye issue he’d developed as a result will flare-up. This condition may require the occasional eye antibiotic to treat, but it isn’t contagious. Kringle does enjoy the company of other kitties – once he gets to know them, of course. But this, too, can take a little time. This is not because he doesn’t like humans or other kitties but because somewhere in his life experience, he’s learned to not immediately feel safe. All it takes is a little love, and this guy turns into a biscuit-making, purring, elevator-butt machine! He finally shows you his true loving personality if he feels safe in a small space – like a bathroom or closet.
If you are interested in adopting Kringle, we would suggest keeping him in a small room where he can get comfortable, maybe even a bathroom, which can be his home base. Visiting him often in his home base space, associating yourself with his favorite things like food (which he LOVES despite his slight frame) and the laser pointer, we guarantee you’ll have a best friend in due time.
If you’ve read to this point and are willing to give Kringle the forever home he deserves, he would love to meet you! Please fill out an adoption application at kittydevorerescue.org.
