Kelpie is a young kitty mom who gave birth in the tough Devore shelter in San Bernardino, California in May, 2019. She was only a year old, herself, at the time. Sadly, out of her four kittens, only one survived. The little family managed to avoid being euthanized for almost a month but on their very last day, Kitty Devore Rescue was able to pull them to safety.
Kelpie is a great mom, very attentive to her baby boy Kombu Greyjoy. As a tiny kitten Kombu couldn’t go very far before Kelpie would voice her concern with a sweet but insistent chortle.
Kelpie is a mackerel tabby with gorgeous markings and beautiful green eyes. She’s a bit on the shy side but will let you pick her up and allow herself to be handled. She purrs and rolls on her side with happiness whenever you pet her.
After a rough start in life, this sweet girl is ready to spend the rest of her long life with a special person or family. Because she’s still close with her son, we consider them a bonded pair, not to be separated.
Kelpie has been adopted as of November 17, 2019!
