Walnut and his brother, Filbert, were adopted June 27, 2020!
Introducing Filbert! Filbert, his brother, Walnut, and their momma, Aveline, were rescued from Devore Shelter in late summer of 2018. Aveline is French for “Hazelnut” so, all together, they make up our adorable little “nut family”!
Bertie is a big, goofy lug! He and Walnut both have a little cowlick in the fur on the top of their heads, causing a subtle mohawk, so they’re both just a little bit punk-rock, which comes out during their rambunctious play time!
Filbert is quite a bit bigger and stockier than his brother, and he likes to throw his weight around when they play. He also has a crooked little tail (it was like that when he was rescued at just 6 weeks old), and we think it gives him some character!
Filbert loves to chase a spring toy, bat at a wand toy, or show off by prancing around with a fuzzy toy in his mouth that he’s “killed”! This handsome panther is a little shy and timid at first with new people, but once he learns that he can trust you, he likes to lean in for a good head scratch or some pats from his human.
He likes to be where the action is, just not right in the middle of it, so a home without too much commotion would be best for him. He loves to curl up on the couch by his human or in a cat bed (sometimes squeezing in with both Walnut AND Aveline!) and relax. While they don’t need to be adopted together, Filbert would love to stay with his momma and/or brother, as they are his favorite cuddle buddies! Either way, he’d be happiest with another feline friend to keep him company.
Filbert has been neutered and microchipped, he’s tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and he’s up to date on his vaccinations. You can have your very own house panther if laid back Bertie sounds like he’s the perfect nut for you and your home! You can fill out the adoption application here.
