Dearie was rescued from Devore Shelter in October 2016. She was approximately 9 months old at the time of her rescue. Her first foster family consisted of three other kitties, two very large dogs and a newborn baby human. Dearie got along well enough with the other kitties but was skittish around the dogs to the point that her foster mom thought it might be in her best interest to be in a home without dogs. She felt it was causing Dearie anxiety and was not beneficial to her.
In her next foster home, there was only one other kitty in the home but there were older children. The noise, hustle and bustle of a home with children under the age of 10 made Dearie just as anxious as the dogs in her first foster home had.
Her third foster home, however, has been the charm. While there are other kitties in the home, there are no dogs and no children. Not long after her arrival, it was clear Dearie felt safe in this new space – and that’s not only wonderful for her but also good for us so that we know what kind of home she would be happiest in.
Dearie is on the subdued side but she is also sweet, loving and curious about the world around her. The first thing you’ll notice about her is her striking amber eyes. They are big and bright! And if it weren’t for the jingle bell on her collar she would be amazingly stealthy! She knows what she wants and isn’t shy about asking for it. She loves eating although she does require a high quality food to keep her occasional anxious tummy issues in check. Dearie is also a lover of laps so, if you’ve got one, you’ve been warned!
This dear girl will be a purrfect fit for someone looking for a constant companion, as she will give love as happily as she receives it!
Dearie was adopted on February 9, 2018!
