Are you interested in adopting a kitten but have heard they do better in pairs? Worried about what two kittens will do to your home and sanity? Or, do you have an active younger cat that needs a friend? Fret not, Celine is the perfect companion to any rambunctious kitten or playful kitty! She will keep them occupied, and you loved as your loyal cat shadow! BONUS: if you adopt two cats from Kitty Devore Rescue, a discount is applied.
Celine is an active and trusting 2 year old kitty. She currently lives in a quiet foster home with 2 adults and 7 other cats, who all give her space when she wants it. Although Celine is incredibly high-energy, she would do best in a similarly quiet home without overly-attentive people or dogs, as she does not enjoy being picked up for long periods or handled excessively. I have found that Celine does really well with kittens because she likes active play. She bonded immediately with a young girl kitten named Zulilly (who is also available for adoption through Kitty Devore) almost instantly while in foster care. Zulilly is now in San Diego being fostered, but we will find a way to make it work if you’re interested in them both!
Celine is very much a CAT: she chases lasers intensely, stalks and fetches mouse toys, climbs up cat trees acrobatically, and wants human affection on her terms. That said, she follows her current foster guardians up to bed each night, settles into the puffy comforter, makes her “biscuits”, and sleeps in the same spot through the night; if not in the same spot, her little bell can be heard running to greet them in the morning as soon as she hears their voices. Celine will be your shadow. The newest thing she does is follow me around to clean all the litter boxes, she sits there quietly while I do the chore and follows me to the next—it’s like it’s her chore too! It’s heartwarming to have her around. She is a quintessential companion cat and she will keep someone a lot of company because she simply wants to be by your side (especially if you find yourself on a computer—she’s a huge fan of keyboards!) Celine is unique in that she LOVES car rides and cat leash walks! I take her out for a walk almost daily, and for short drives whenever I can. She puts her paws on the door and stares out the window like a puppy.
