Bilbo and his sister, Beckie, were adopted together on Sunday, February 6, 2022!
This gray-haired boy was among a large group of kittens admitted to Devore Shelter in October 2021. We suspect the group of 13, all approximately two months old, were from at least two different mothers. However, their mothers didn’t accompany them. Five of the kittens were adopted singularly while at the shelter. The remaining eight continued to hope for a rescue to save them. Kitty Devore Rescue knew we didn’t have an available foster home for all eight, so the kittens were rescued and split between two different foster parents. One set of four remained in California, and the other four traveled to their new foster home in Seattle, WA. Bilbo and Beckie were among the four Seattle kittens. Both have similar coloring, so they’re likely from the same litter.
When you first meet Bilbo, you’ll immediately recognize he’s not going to be a hobbit-sized kitty. He’s still a kitten, but he’s sturdy, and we expect he’s going to be a big, healthy kitty when he’s full grown. Yet he’s just as naive and a gentle romantic as any creature from the Shire. Silly and rambunctious, Bilbo loves to play all day with toys, tubes, and his foster siblings. He tries hard to win over the crabby adults in the room. Although not strictly bonded, Bilbo would love to be adopted with his little sister Beckie if possible.
