This gorgeous red tabby with pristine white chest and legs is Alton. He is a 12-year-old kitty rescued from a high-kill shelter a couple years ago. This mellow boy has been patiently waiting for a forever home where he can get all the love and attention he so deserves.
Alton is a lover boy, perfectly content curling up near you for a cozy nap (his favorite pastime). There’s no mistaking his happiness as he will be purring like crazy. Scratch his head or chin and his purr gets louder and louder. It’s a wonderful sound you just have to hear to believe. Alton’s other terrific sound is his old-man meow, scratchy and slightly cranky (even though he isn’t); it will make you smile. Besides napping, Alton enjoys keeping himself perfectly groomed and staring out the windows watching birds fly and bugs crawl.
Although Alton is a mellow kitty, he is a bit of an alpha cat. He does fine in his foster home with the other cats and 2 big dogs, but if any of them get too unruly in his space he’ll set them straight with a loud meow and a swat if necessary. He would do best in a home with other relaxed kitties and/or dogs or as an only fur child that gets all of your attention.
