Tux is one of many of the babies in the Kitty Devore Rescue foster kitten nursery. Such a sweet little guy! He is a black and white “tuxie” male who, thankfully, never saw the inside of Devore Shelter. The day the person who found him brought him to the shelter, one of our members, Joyce, happened to be there taking videos of the kitties. Sadly, orphaned kittens under 8 weeks old, if admitted, are immediately euthanized. Joyce wasn’t about to let that happen to this sweetheart. Instead, she enlisted her sister, Niki, to foster him.
We estimate Tux was born around April 12, 2018 so he still has to go through his vetting process before he can be considered ready for adopiton.
All KD kittens must be tested for FeLV and FIV, receive a series of 3 FVRCP vaccines for optimum immunity against various feline contagions at 3 week intervals beginning when they are 8 weeks old and, when they weigh at least 2.5 to 3 lbs they are spayed or neutered. All KD kitties are also treated for all internal and external parasites and have all observable and discoverable health issues address. Additionally, each kitty is microchipped to ensure they have a better chance of being found if they ever go missing. Once they have been given the okay by one of our wonderful veterinarians, they are cleared and ready for adoption.
Tux will be ready for adoption in mid to late July. His foster home is in San Juan Capistrano but, if he has not secured a pre-approved adopter by the time he is cleared for adoption, he will be making appearances at our Petsmart adoption venue in Santa Ana. We are accepting pre-adoption applications for him on a first come, first serve basis. If you would like to adopt this adorable little guy and bring him home as soon as he receives adoption clearance, fill out an application to adopt him today!
