I agree to provide volunteer services for Kitty Devore Rescue and to engage in activities related to serving as a volunteer as outlined to me upon approval of my application, acceptance of my service as a volunteer, and upon my first shift at the Petsmart in-store adoption venue.*

I understand it is my responsibility to report any observance of a cat’s aggressive behavior, illness, or injury while carrying out my volunteer activities at the Petsmart Santa Ana adoption venue to the Adoption Event Officer within 24 hours of the observed behavior or health issue.*

I understand that, in the event of contention between Kitty Devore Rescue volunteer who find themselves at odds or feel their membership in the Petsmart In-Store KD Volunteer group forum is cause for personal discomfort or stress for themselves or others, they have the right and obligation to contact the Adoption Event Officer to explain the situation and express their desire to leave the group or amend/adjust their volunteer commitment obligations or schedule but still remain a Kitty Devore Rescue volunteer. I understand each individual situation will vary and the terms of each situation will remain confidential between the Kitty Devore Rescue Adoption Event Officer, the Kitty Devore Board of Officers and the individual Kitty Devore Rescue volunteer.*

I understand I may not publicly or privately solicit other Kitty Devore Rescue volunteers or members, Petsmart staff or Petsmart customers for money to purchase personal items or request personal financial assistance. Should an occurrence of this nature with supportive proof reach the attention of a Kitty Devore Rescue Board member, the member who has solicited funding for personal reasons will be contacted and warned. The second occurrence will result in dismissal from the volunteer team and volunteer tenure will be terminated.*

I understand that if I volunteer to work at an adoption event headed by a Kitty Devore Rescue administrator, Board member, or Adoption Event Officer, I will defer to their authority and directives as they pertain to adoption event conduct, procedure and policy.*

I understand if I have an interest in fostering, I must complete and submit the Kitty Devore Rescue Foster Application and Agreement before I can be considered as a Kitty Devore Rescue foster parent. If I am interested in adopting, I understand that I must complete and submit the Kitty Devore Rescue Adoption Application. Both are subject to approval by a Kitty Devore Rescue foster or adoption officer and a home check will be required before fostering or adopting can take place.*

Liability Release and Waiver:
I understand that the scope of my relationship with Kitty Devore Rescue is limited to a volunteer position and that no compensation is expected in return for services provided by me; that Kitty Devore Rescue will not provide any benefits traditionally associated with employment to me, and that I am responsible for my own insurance coverage in the event of personal injury or illness as a result of my services to Kitty Devore Rescue.*

I release and forever discharge Kitty Devore Rescue from all liability for any causes of action or suits of any kind whatsoever, and particularly on account of any injuries, to person or property sustained while carrying out my voluntary duties, attending adoption events, or performing other services on behalf of, or in conjunction with, Kitty Devore Rescue.*

I understand and acknowledge that this release discharges Kitty Devore Rescue and each of its administrators, officers, members and agents from any liability or claim that I may have against them with respect to bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from the services I provide to them or occurring while I am providing volunteer services.*

I release and forever discharge Kitty Devore Rescue, a nonprofit corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of California and each of its administrators, officers, members and agents from any claim whatsoever which arises or may hereafter arise on account of any first-aid treatment or other medical services rendered in connection with an emergency during my tenure as a volunteer with them.*

I further acknowledge and agree that I: (a) fully understand the meaning of this Release and Waiver clause and recognize my right to seek the advice of an attorney before signing it; (b) have signed it freely and without any inducement or assurance of any nature; (c) intend it to be a complete unconditional release of liability to the greatest extent allowed by law; and (d) agree that if any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid the balance notwithstanding shall continue in full force and effect. The acceptance of this release shall not operate as an admission of liability on the part of anyone, nor as a waiver or bar with respect to any claim that I may have against the undersigned.*

As a volunteer, I expressly agree that this release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of California and that this Release shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of California.
